The  numbers Digging by Seamus Heaney focuses on his childhood  electronic computer memory of watching his father  weary  done his garden which relates to his  grow  outgrowth up in Ireland and traditional Irish life. And  until now earlier, he remembers his grandfather, digging peat. He cannot match men  alike them with a spade,     scarce he sees that the pen is for him.   Mightier, and with it he  leave alone dig into his  away and celebrate his father and grandfather with the memories which he has placed on paper which will remain forever.

              This poem looks at  devil memories, such as his father digging the potato drills, and his grandfather digging turf, for which he was famous as the best  shovel on the peat bog. Heaney celebrates not so  oft their strength as their expertise within the poem by making it  unornamented that they were masters of thier craft.   Digging is also a metaphor on another scale, which contributes to Heaneys version of  candor.
